In the soft scale Towmeyella parvicornis , groups of invaginated, biocular pores on the dorsal surface of the derm; see sensilla placodea.
2. (BRYOZOA: Gymnolaemata)
An interior chitinous or calcareous wall of a zooid with one or more minute pores through which special cells project; part of the communication organ.
